Family Assistance
Global Emergency Management provides Family Assistance support for aviation and non-aviation incidents globally.
Assistance to families of persons that have been involved in a disaster should and must be regarded as a priority in a response.
Whether there is a legal requirement or not, assistance and compassion to persons who have experienced a serious injury or death to a loved one is fundamental and simply, the right thing to do. During times of personal loss, support in various forms is needed by everyone.
Physical and emotional needs during a crisis increase dramatically as these are experiences that we seldom make and typically are unprepared for.
Global Emergency Management coordinates the bringing together of a vast pool of resources and professionals to ensure that the needs of family members are met in a timely and sensitive manner.
In relation to aviation incidents, Global Emergency Management can coordinate the establishment of a Family Assistance Center in accordance with the Aviation Disaster Family Support Act of 1996 and the Foreign Air Carrier Family Support Act of 1997.
The impact of a disaster on client employees should not be under-estimated and mental health assistance for those responders should also be considered.
